Breathing Techniques & Guided Meditation

Breathing:

Poor breathing can impact on your whole body.....

  • Increasing brain fog & the inability to concentrate

  • Enhance feelings of anxiety & Stress

  • Bloating and Nausea

  • Increasing heart rate and palpitations

  • Cause Cold hands and feet

  • Inability to unwind

  • Poor Sleep

Unlike Newborns, adults breathing is no longer instinctive. Instead, over time many of us have become shallow chest, or thoracic, breathers. We inhale through our mouth, holding our breath and taking in less air. Environmental impacts like stressors, temperature, noise has caused our breathing to shift. Cultural expectations such as the desire to have a flatter stomach causes us to hold our breath and suck in our stomach, tightening your muscles

As adults we can practice deep, or diaphragmatic, breathing by using the diaphragm. This muscle located under the lungs, helps to pull air in. Visually, you will see the belly expand and chest rise as you inhale air through the nose and into the lungs. On the exhale, the belly contracts.

Practicing this every day can help reduce stress and induce relaxation. At the end of a Coaching session or independently we can practise breathing techniques together and give you tools to take away and use within your daily life.

Guided Meditation:

Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, or even a better person. It’s about training in awareness and gaining a healthy sense of perspective. It is not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You are learning to observe them without judgment. Eventually, you may start to understand them better as well.

Guided meditation is a state of relaxation invoked and led by another party. It can be as short as a few minutes or as long as several hours. Either way, the purpose is to achieve mental, emotional and physical healing and stress relief
